Winfred Barry Barr was born to the late Jim and Geraldine Barr on Oct. 17th, 1966 in Newark, NJ. He is one of six (6) siblings.
Winfred graduated from Irvington High School in 1984, where he was a proud member of the marching band. There he played the trombone and made many lifelong friends.
After graduating from high school, Winfred joined the US Army and served for 4 years.
Winfred was also a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Newark as well.
Winfred worked at Marine Container Services as warehouse manager for over 20 years.
Winfred was an International Free Mason and a faithful member of the Widow's Son Lodge #5 of Irvington, NJ, where he served as Past Master. His lodge became his family as well.
Winfred leaves to mourn his wife Sharon (Rajdey), with whom he lovingly helped raise their three kids: Chelsea, Emily and Kareem. Sisters: Anna Bowe of Newark, N.J., Sennie Mae Thomas (Robert Lee) of Hemingway, S.C. & Renee Carr-Foster (Michael) of Piscataway, N.J.
Winfred was preceded in death by his brothers: Herbert Lee of Delaware and Kenneth (Umar) Williams of Newark, N.J.
Winfred will be fondly cherished by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Winfred will be remembered for his devotion to his family and job, as well as for his sense of humor that could brighten any room. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
