Winnifred Dolde Obituary
Winnie graduated from Strong Vincent High School in Erie and earned her bachelor's degree from Allegheny College in 1964, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Her career in education began at Corning-Painted Post High School in New York and continued in Ohio and Texas before she made Miami her home in 1969.
For over five decades, Winnie dedicated herself to teaching French and Spanish before earning a master's degree from Florida International University and serving as a school guidance counselor. She enjoyed many years at Richmond Heights Junior High School, Arvida Junior High School, Miami Killian High School, Southwest High School's night school program, and Brucie Ball Hospital/Homebound School.
Winnie found joy in gardening, swimming in her pool, traveling, and entertaining friends and family. A devoted reader of the Miami Herald, she took pride in having many letters to the editor published over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Patricia Niemic, Jean Coe, Raymond Lyons, and Joan Sammarco.
Winnie is survived by her children, Bill Dolde (Denae) and Jenna Dolde (Daniel Farnsworth); grandchildren, Chloe Dolde, Conor Farnsworth, and Emmaline Farnsworth; brother Patrick Lyons (Ellen); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of Winnie's favorite charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PBS, or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Winnie and I were friends We worked together at Arvita junior high and then started decades of travel together. I have wonderful memories of the time we spent in multiple places around the world as well as sharing joyful moments with friends. Rest in peace Winnie .
