Funeral services for Winston Jordan, 83, of Lexington, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Lexington with Pastor Chris Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. preceding the service. Winston Allen Jordan was born January 11, 1942 in Shiloh, Texas to Arthur and Graffie Jordan. He has 3 siblings, Joan, Richard, and Henry. Wink graduated from Lexington High School in 1960. After high school he moved to Lovington, New Mexico to work as a roughneck in the oil field. Several years later, he made a career change to service manager for the Chevrolet Dealership. He met and married the love of his life Brenda Long on July 27, 1968. They were blessed with two daughters over the next five years. Their young family moved back to Lexington in 1973 where he began Jordan Drilling Company, drilling most of the wells in Lee and Milam Counties. He ran his own business for over 27 years. Winston could tell you to this day how many feet below the earth to hit water and what the quality of that water would be if you just showed him a location. Wink was stoic, a man of few words, but he loved fiercely with his whole heart, and he always led his family by example. He encouraged his daughters to be independent, imparting skills to them that most men only teach their sons; yet he always treated Kellye and Kember like ladies. Beginning in 1991, Kellye gave him three beautiful granddaughters Ashton, Lauren, and Reagan. Kember added three more precious granddaughters Kynleigh, Kanyon, Kinston, and one special grandson Kase, completing the pride of his life by 2016. Wink's circle of love also includes son-in-law David Boettcher (and his children Kristen and Clay), son-in-law Chandler Evans, grandson-in-law Zane, great grandson Jacob, and many nieces and nephews. In his spare time, Wink loved chasing his kids and then grandkids in sports, fishing, traveling, and hands-on projects that challenged his mind. He always slowed down to appreciate nature and all God's creation. His favorite pastime was gathering with his family around a campfire while telling stories and listening to both country and southern gospel music. Papa treasured his family above all else, and his grandkids did no wrong. His number one job was to make sure we were all taken care of, never putting himself first. Dad solved all of life's problems. He knew everything and could do anything. He would drop whatever he was doing just to help us any time we needed him. You are truly one of a kind, and we are so blessed to call you Wink, Dad, Papa, OUR ROCK. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
