Walter Winston Larsen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on October 14, 1942, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Gerald and Ora Larsen.

Winston grew up working alongside his father and grandfather, Alma Larsen, on the family farm-an experience that shaped his lifelong love for agriculture and hard work. During his school years at Sugar-Salem High School, he was active in football, basketball, and FFA, building friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.

After graduating, Winston served faithfully in the Southern States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he shared his deep faith and love for the gospel. Upon returning home, he attended Ricks College, where he met the love of his life, Deon Lovell. Winston and Deon were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on January 6, 1967.

The couple continued their education at Utah State University, both earning teaching degrees. They began their careers at North Summit High School in Coleville, Utah, and later taught at Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah, where they influenced the lives of countless students.
Eventually, Winston and Deon returned to their roots, settling on the family farm in Salem, Idaho. There, they raised their eight children, cultivating not only fields of grain, wheat, and potatoes, but also a legacy of love, faith, and hard work.

Winston was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. One of his greatest honors was serving as Bishop, where his compassion and leadership blessed many lives.

He is survived by his eternal companion, Deon Larsen; and their children: Amber (Brett) Jorgensen, Norman (Charlotte) Larsen, Brian (Marissa) Larsen, Kelton (Mandy) Larsen, Paul (Katie) Larsen, Roxann (Kent) Howell, and Cameron (Brooke) Larsen. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Winston was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Ora Larsen; his son, Spencer Larsen; and two grandchildren, Jaxton and Tyler.
Winston's life was one of hard work, unwavering faith, and boundless love for his family and the land he worked. His legacy will continue to grow in the hearts and lives of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11 am at the Salem Church. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 9th, at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N First E in Rexburg, from 5:30-7 pm. Interment will be at the Rexburg Cemetery.
