Woodrow "Woody" Dunn

Woodrow "Woody" Dunn Jr., age 74, a longtime resident of Lapeer, passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Woody was born on November 7, 1950, in Flint, Michigan. He was a proud graduate of Oxford High School. Shortly after graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he began a long and dedicated career with General Motors as a Final Processor at the Orion Assembly Plant, retiring after 36 years of service.
Woody was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved being at home-tending to his yard, picking up leaves, and waxing his cars with pride and precision. While he occasionally enjoyed attending classical car shows, nothing quite compared to the satisfaction of caring for his own vehicles.
A lifelong music lover, Woody also took great pride in piecing together high-quality sound systems. He was an avid fan of Detroit sports, especially when watched from the comfort of his favorite chair. Above all, Woody cherished his family and the moments spent with them at home. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Woody is survived by his daughter Lisa (Daniel) Robinson; son Scott (Megan) Davis; grandchildren Trevor (Jackie) Robinson, Courtney Robinson, Hunter Robinson, Raymond Brabo, Nora Davis, Mitchell Davis, and Abigail Brabo; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Eleanor Robinson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Roberta Dunn in 2022; his parents Woody and Mary Dunn; brother Hazen Wilcox; sisters Sue Schmidutz and Rose Bradford.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel. Pastor Drew Jolly will officiate. Woody will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery with military honors performed by the American Legion Post 16 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
