Xenia Irene Rivas

With profound sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Xenia Irene Rivas, known affectionately to many as Xenia Irene Garcia, on August 2, 2023. This loving, generous, compassionate, and courageous woman was born on September 20, 1962, in San Vicente, El Salvador. Her life was a testament to her faith and her fierce love for her family. Xenia resided in North Ogden, Utah, where she filled every day with kindness, grace, and a sense of gratitude.
The heart of Xenia's life was her unwavering love for her family. Xenia and her mother made the brave decision to leave El Salvador, and venture first to California and ultimately to Utah. She did this with one purpose - to provide a better life for her children. This courageous act was just one of many that defined Xenia's character.
Despite her everyday responsibilities, Xenia found time to indulge in her passion for travel and friendship. She cherished the opportunity to explore new places and cultures, always returning with stories that captivated her family and friends. She had great love for her grandsons and took every available opportunity to spend time and make memories with them. However, her most profound journey was her spiritual one. Xenia's faith was central to her life. As a family, we take great comfort in knowing that our mother is walking with her Lord and has been reunited with her beloved mother, Berta Rivas, who preceded her in death.
Xenia leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. She is survived by her children, William (Stephanie) Aleman and Xenia (Jed) Alsup, who will forever cherish their mother's memory, and her 5 grandsons. She is also survived by her father, Arnoldo Henriquez-Rivas, who will hold the memory of his daughter in his heart, and 3 siblings.
A Celebration of Life service for Xenia will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 10 am to 12 noon at the Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah, 84404. We invite all who knew and loved Xenia to join us in celebrating her remarkable life.
