Xiuzhen was born in Gaomi, Shandong, China, to Tingsong Cai and Zansi Cai on October 24, 1935. She worked as a teacher at Gaomi High School for more than 35 years. During her career, she taught Chinese language and literature and advised other teachers in the county. She received many awards for her teaching.
She enjoyed volleyball, gardening, playing the piano, singing, and reading Chinese literature. She also volunteered at many organizations including her local Chinese School.
Xiuzhen is survived by her two sons Baoshan Zhang, his wife Lan Wang, and Tieshan Zhang, his wife Qian Wang, and her three grandchildren, Walter Zhang, Katherine Zhang, and Siyang Zhang. She is preceded in death by her husband Xi Zhang
A private family viewing will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ (Tuttlefh.com).
