Yolanda Jean Leeke, 69 of Argos, IN passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Cardinal Nursing home, South Bend, IN. She was born on October 21, 1954 to Earl and Stephanie Leeke and they preceded her in death.
Yolanda was a beautiful, kind, compassionate person who loved nature, working in her yard and hanging out with her family and friends.
She possessed a unique and innate ability to connect and show compassion for someone in need. Given these qualities, it isn't surprising that she chose to work in heath care, specifically hospice care. She instinctively was able to connect with her patients and understand what they needed. She was always motivated to offer compassion and help in any way she could.
Patients would specifically call the office and ask for Yolanda to take care of them. Her patients loved her and said she always made them smile and made their day. What a wonderful gift she gave to them.
Yolanda also left our family with a beautiful legacy of healthcare service in her community.
She left us too soon and will certainly be missed, but we know we will see her again.
Survivors include sisters; Vicky Humphrey, Linda Spear, Joanne Leeke and Mary Leeke. Brothers; Christopher Leeke and Timothy Leeke. Nephews; Ernie (Linda) Humphrey, Jon Joseph O'Connor III and Niece Natalie (Mark) Zook.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30th from 10-11 am at the Palmer Funeral Home within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN 46536. The memorial service will begin at 11 am following the visitation with Father Terry Fisher officiating.
Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
