Yolanda Dionne Bell Shropshire, a strong beautiful woman full of life and better known as DeeDee Clark, was the first born to Jesse Jr and Belinda Clark on September 4, 1969.At a young age, she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
After a short illness, DeeDee took her final plane ride to heaven on August 9, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Jasmine’s unwavering devotion and never leaving DeeDee’s side during her final months of this earthly journey.
DeeDee attended Akron Public Schools, graduating in 1987, from Firestone High School. She also attended the University of Akron, before starting her career at Summa as a Claims Adjuster, journeying on to a Billing Representative at Lababidi Enterprise Inc. and completing her last work assignment as a Billing Specialist at Vantage Aging.
The smart and ambitious DeeDee, loved her title as coordinator of all Clark and Beasley events, and being deemed as the traveling queen, she loved planning trips.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Jesse Sr & Annie Clark, Clarence & Luretha Beasley, brothers Jason & Joseph Clark, aunts Jurolina Carter, Pamela McCorvey and uncle Stephen Beasley.
DeeDee was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, last and definitely not least the best GiGi ever. She leaves behind to honor and cherish her memory, loving husband William “Boogie” Shropshire, daughters Jasmine Bell & Tatyana Shropshire, son William Shropshire, special granddaughter Jayce Buchanan, unborn grandson, parents Jesse Jr & Belinda Clark, brother Jesse D Clark, sister Lonnie Folk, uncles Clarence Beasley & Robert Clark, aunts Rena Vaughn, Robin Wanzo & Toni Beasley, cousins that were like siblings Leotis Daggett, Lavonia Clark, Stephen Beasley, Avá Beasley, Shante Robinson, Deaire Robinson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members and friends of 20 plus years.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 12:00pm, Sunday, August 17th, at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm with Pastor Charles Shropshire officiating.
