Yvette Apollon passed away surrounded by family and friends in her home on September 13, 2024, at the age of 69 in Everett, Massachusetts. She was born in Les Cayes, Haiti on October 26, 1954. Yvette lost her parents, Ena Apollon (mother) and Raphael St. Martin (father) at a young age in Haiti. Yvette worked as a teacher and director of a school in Haiti. In the US, Yvette dedicated over 25 years of her life to caring for the elderly as a Home Health Aide. She brought comfort and warmth to many during their times of need, embodying the virtues of empathy and selflessness throughout her career.
Yvette was a beacon of love and humor. She was everyone's mother. Her resilience and strength were as evident in her personal life as they were in her professional endeavors. A devout Catholic, she placed great faith in God, guiding her through life's challenges and inspiring those around her. Yvette's home was a welcoming sanctuary, reflecting her open heart and the genuine care she extended to everyone. Yvette gave the best hugs. Her smile and laugh lit up the room. When Yvette walked into a room, there was a calming presence where you knew that things were going to be okay.
She was a cherished figure in her community and her family. Yvette is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence T. Jones; her brother, Jean Joseph Apollon; her three daughters, Michaelle Youte, Emmanuella Youte, and Nehemie Jones-Swaby; her son-in-law, Patrick Swaby; and her beloved grandson, Myles Swaby.
A service to honor Yvette's life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish, 487 Broadway, Everett, MA 02149.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Yvette's memory to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and/or the Alzheimer's Association, supporting causes that were important to her. Yvette's legacy of kindness, compassion, and devout faith will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. She will be missed very much.
