Yvon G. Ouellet, fondly known as "Frenchy" to those who loved him, departed this life on September 17, 2025. Born on December 28, 1938, in Cookshire-Eaton, QC, Canada, Frenchy was a man of wit, reliability, dedication, and creativity. His charisma and unique humor were reflected in the affectionate way he would often greet his friends, "You old bastard." This jesting term of endearment will be remembered by all who knew him.
Frenchy was a man who savored life's simple pleasures. He was passionate about ice hockey and, in his younger days, played with the old timers in Fitchburg. Frenchy's spontaneity and love for adventure often led him on impromptu road trips to Canada to visit friends and relatives. His love for card games, particularly cribbage, was legendary among his brothers and nephews. He was also known for running the Texas Hold 'em tournaments at the Otter River Gun Club. In his later years, Frenchy found joy in riding his John Deere around his yard. Despite his many interests and hobbies, what mattered most to Yvon was family.
Frenchy is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Ouellet, his loving daughters, Janine Ekey (Robert), Debora Carbone (Steven), Karen Lucchesi (James), and was predeceased by his daughter, Denise Ouellet, and granddaughter, Stephanie Ouellet. His loving grandchildren Nicole Fisher, Alex Fisher (Jessica), Kerry Lucchesi (Spencer), and Ryan Marie Fleming. His loving great-grandchildren Rilee, Abigail, Carver, Mackenzie, Natalie, and Haley. He also has many nieces, nephews, and friends he leaves behind with fond memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Marie-Anne Ouellet, as well as all of his brothers and sisters. Frenchy's life was a testament to the power of humor, the importance of family, and the joy of simple pursuits.
