Paul H. Ouellet, 86, of Hooksett, NH, passed away at Elliot Hospital on January 10, 2025. Born in Lawrence, MA on September 12, 1938, he was a son of the late Herve and Exarine (Saulnier) Ouellet. He shared 62 years of marriage with his wife, Lucille (Lambert) Ouellet.
Paul was raised in Amesbury, MA and was a graduate of Amesbury High School. He was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army. He had a long career in telecommunications, working for 32 years at New England Telephone, later AT&T. During his time at AT&T, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Hesser College at age 48. After retiring from AT&T at age 52, Paul started his own telecommunications business, Ouellet Communications Services, Inc., which he ran until retiring in 2006. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed playing pool and cribbage and was an avid reader. He loved fishing and used to take several deep sea fishing trips every year. Paul’s greatest joy was his family and he made many cherished memories on family trips to Disney and traveling with Lucille.
Paul is survived by his wife, Lucille Ouellet; his children, Lisa Ouellet and her significant other Ben Betterley and Michael Ouellet and his wife Kim; his grandchildren, Samantha McDonough and her husband Patrick, Daimen Ouellet, and Annalise Ouellet; his great-grandchildren, Ava, Declan and Ella McDonough; his sister-in-law, Madeline Ouellet; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his siblings, Robert Ouellet and Adrienne Barclay.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, January 16th from 6PM-8PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 17th at 1PM at Holy Rosary Parish, 21 Main Street, Hooksett, NH. He will be laid to rest at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in a private ceremony.
