Yvonne Arline Karr

Yvonne Arline Karr (née Carter), age 89, of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025.
Born on June 8, 1936, in San Bernardino, California, Yvonne was the daughter of James Henry Carter and Martha Elizabeth Odell. On May 22, 1953, she married the love of her life, Marvin Leon Karr, in Inyokern, California. Together, they built a loving home and raised four sons who were the center of her world.
Yvonne had a deep passion for family, faith, and community. Throughout her years in California and later in Oklahoma, where she settled in 1982, she devoted herself to the activities and organizations that brought people together. She was actively involved in Pop Warner football, Little League baseball, the Lions Club, the Sideliners Club, and numerous church programs such as Mother's Day Out, Prime Timers, and communion for shut-in's-most recently with Community Christian Church of Durant, OK. She was always offering her time, energy, and heart to those around her.
She found joy in gardening, hosting family meals, and caring for her land and loved ones. Her nurturing spirit, kindness, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin (Leon) Karr; her sons Richard, Robert, and Eugene (Gene); and her granddaughter Elizabeth Ward.
She is survived by her son Gary and his wife Lynette; daughters-in-law Linda D. and Linda J.; brother George Carter; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and faith continues to live on through each of them.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Calera Manor Nursing Home in memory of Yvonne Arline Karr.
