Yvonne Ward Obituary
Yvonne graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit, attended Henry Ford Community College and spent her career with the City of Detroit. She enjoyed teaching throughout her life beginning with her nieces and nephews and continuing in the Recreation Department where she worked with children and seniors teaching games, crafts, ceramics and also volunteering as a Scout leader. She finished her career in Human Resources for the Detroit Fire Department.
In 1998 Yvonne retired and after shoveling snow for the last time, packed up and moved to Arizona. She spent more than 25 years as a resident of Sun City West where she built a full life through friendships, social groups, clubs and activities.
She enjoyed travel, puzzles, table games, crafts, garage sales and thrifting to grow her many collections and discovering her talent as an artist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Geneva Melanie Ward, grandchild Sydney Yvonne Ward and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Honoring her wishes, no service or memorial will be held.
