Yvonne Lee Ware, 78 of Cheyenne Wyoming passed away on September 30 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, joining her beloved husband Jon. She was born August 26, 1947, in Santa Maria California to Alvin and Marguerite (Montgomery) Gray. She married Jon Ware May 9, 1966. From this union two beautiful daughters were born, Dawn Rene and Victoria Lynn.
Yvonne was a vibrant and fearless individual, small but mighty. She deeply loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She and Jon cherished hosting family and friends for all holidays, always ensuring everyone felt welcome. Yvonne loved her Carpenter Community and was very active with the Carpenter Water and Sewer District. She was also a strong advocate for children, especially during her many years as the Laramie County Fair Manager, where she tirelessly supported the youth of Laramie County. Together, Jon and Yvonne owned Ware Masonry in Cheyenne for over 30 years. In her later years, she worked for Bar S Services.
She is survived by daughters Dawn (Frank) Thompson, Vicki (Mark) Sopr; Sister, Jody (Russell) Walter; Grandchildren Zane (Rayna Longeway) Thompson, Abby (Ezra) Gillis, Madison (Lance Kobusch) Thompson, Emma Sopr and Ashley Lannon; Great Grandchildren Edysin, Athena and Ellington Gillis, Charlotte Hammar, and Maeve Lannon; Sister-In-Laws Glenda Gray, Jan Gray and Sue Allen; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jon; parents Alvin and Maggie; son Shawn Edwin Ware; brothers Charlie Gray, Van Gray; and Son-In-Law Shawn Dubie.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 1 pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Davis Hospice and her wonderful nurse Dayna for their compassionate care.
