Zachariah Allen Church (known to all as Zac), 41, of Goessel, Kansas, went home to be with Jesus on November 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his wife, Jana, and his parents, Bob and Ruth, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 15, 1984, to Bobby and Ruth Church of Newton, Kansas, Zac lived a life filled with faith, joy, and purpose. He was a proud graduate of Goessel High School and Fort Hays State University. On April 8, 2006, Zac married the love of his life, Jana. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two wonderful children, Paxton and Autumn, who were the light of his life.
Throughout his career — and most recently with Numotion — Zac served and shared his faith daily. He built personal relationships with his clients and went above and beyond in his work, always seeing beyond the job to the person. For Zac, fitting someone for a wheelchair wasn’t just employment — it was a calling. His servant’s heart was on display in everything he did.
Zac’s heart belonged to Jesus, and he lived that out every day. As a worship leader at Grace Crossing, he poured his soul into every song, lifting others closer to God through his music and radiant spirit. His voice was as warm and genuine as he was — an instrument of praise and a reflection of his deep faith.
Recently, Zac was asked what his favorite Bible verse was. Without hesitation, he shared James 1:2–4:
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
Outside of church, Zac found peace in God’s creation. He loved spending time outdoors — fishing, hunting, and sharing those moments with family and friends. His creative passion led him to start Fearless Jigs, where he designed and crafted custom jigs and flies, combining his love of the outdoors with his gift for creating things that brought joy to others.
Zac’s kindness, authenticity, and unwavering faith left a mark on everyone who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort knowing he is home with Jesus — whole, healed, and free.
Zac is survived by his loving wife, Jana; his children, Paxton and Autumn; his parents, Bobby and Ruth Church; and his sister, Sarah (Josh) Garver, and their daughters Mia and Caylee. He is also survived by Uncle Gary (Denise) Church, Aunt Debbie Church, all of Newton; Uncle Robert (Debra) Derksen of Iowa; Uncle Roger (Sara) Derksen of Texas; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Orville and Nona Church, and Lester and Mary Ellen Derksen, as well as uncles Tom, Terry, and Larry Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Grace Crossing Church in Moundridge, Kansas. Immediately following the service, a fundraiser meal will be held at The Hub in Moundridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. We also ask that you honor Zac by living fearlessly in faith and spending time outdoors, where he most loved to feel God’s presence.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
