Zachary Alan Barton, a beloved son of Lori Butler and Alan Barton, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on October 14th 2025, leaving behind a heavy heart for his family and friends.

Zach was born October 4th 1986 in Des Moines IA. He was a graduate of Hoover high school. He was the eldest of seven siblings and was known for his infectious laughter and ability to tell a good story. Zach was a sports enthusiast and passionate collector of sports card. He spent a majority of his time enjoying sports with his brothers. Zach was also a devoted pet owner, spending most of his time with his beloved dog, Buddy, and a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his parents Lori (Randy Van Oort) and Alan (Janell) Barton. His siblings Candace (Jade) Reed, Ciarra (Admir) Barton, Joshua (Jessica) Barton, Sebastian Barton, Gunner (Lacey) Barton, Mason (Maddy) Bailey, Madison (Andrew) Coch, Brandon Van Oort, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is proceeded in death by Phyllis and Grump Barton and Patricia and Phil Butler.

We will honor Zach with a celebration of life at Windsor Heights Community Center on Sunday, November 9th, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the ARL would be greatly appreciated, as Zach was a passionate animal lover.

Zach's passing has left an undeniable mark on everyone who knew him. His memory will continue to be cherished and he will be deeply missed.
