Zachary Sword Obituary

Zachary Sword 31, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2022. He was born on January 8, 1991. Zachary left us too soon after battling Goodpasture syndrome. Zac was incredibly generous, smart, and kind. He loved playing instruments, singing, dancing, and riding motorcycles. He was full of life. A friend to everyone he was full of smiles and laughter. Zac was a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him. He was a veteran of the military having served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman 1 Class for 7 years. During this time, he was stationed in Turkey, Italy, and Kuwait.
Zachary was preceded in death by his beloved Papaw Billy Sword.
He is survived by his mother "Momma Mia", Stephanie Jones; dad, Gary Jones; best friend and brother, Zane Michael Sword and girlfriend Katherine; his princess niece, Zoey Grace Sword; nephew, Greyson Michael Sword; and his beloved mamaw, Barbara Ann Sword; uncles along with their families, BJ, Vicky, Chloe, Paxton Sword and, Michael, Mandy, Austin, and Elijah Sword; great uncle, Ricky Sword and wife Sharon and their children Ethan, Sarah, and Bram; cousins, Marcella and husband Scott Langrel, Eric and Jeffery Sword along with their families; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm- 3:00 pm on Tuesday July 5, 2022, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm with Chris Carter officiating.
Following the service, Zachary will be laid to rest beside his Papaw with a military graveside service at Church Hill Memory Gardens military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Pallbearers serving family will be Zane Sword, James Ratliff, Mikey Foster, Elijah Sword, Aaron Brickey, and Anthony "Ant" Laws.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home is serving the Sword family.

He and I went through BMT together and he was kinda the class clown who helped keep everyone's spirits up. Even though we didn't talk much after graduation I will miss him dearly. If there is a funeral please let me know through my email at [email protected]
