Zoe Nicole Berger Hall

Zoe Nicole Berger Hall, beloved mother and daughter, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 45. Born in New Orleans on May 24, 1977, Zoe attended Ursuline Academy and Archbishop Blenk High School, where an interest in theater led her to both the lead role in a student production of "12 Angry Women" and making many lip-sync music videos with friends. She studied psychology at Louisiana State University and the University of New Orleans, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2000. She then attended and graduated from LSUHSC School of Nursing, earning her BSN in 2004.
As a registered nurse, Zoe served as a staff member of several area hospitals and medical facilities, including Ochsner Baptist Hospital and Tulane Medical Center. She was a member of the intensive care team of Meadowcrest Hospital during Hurricane Katrina and fearlessly helped maintain a high level of medical care amid loss of power and dwindling supplies in the days that followed the storm.
Zoe was intelligent, intrepid, energetic, and effervescent, which was apparent in everything she did, especially her elaborate Halloween and Mardi Gras costumes. She was a force of nature, able to brighten up a room the moment she entered and always one to crack a joke with her trademark sarcasm. She will be forever missed by her three beloved children, Viktorija Bella Kurtich, Maximillian Patrick Deroche, and Zachary Charles Hall. She is also survived by her parents, Donna DesRoches Berger and Sidney Joseph Berger (Gwynn), two brothers, Eric Blaise Berger and Todd Evan Berger (Helena) and a niece, Wednesday Wei Berger.
Graveside services will be private. The family requests no flowers, but those who would like to make a donation in Zoe's honor are asked to consider contributing to Doctors Without Borders.
