Zuri Martin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Zuri Iyona Martin's bright smile and loving soul entered into the world on September 26, 2013 in Raleigh, NC to Ashia James. She departed from this life on April 12, 2025. God has called his princess home to be reunited with her late great-grandmother, Marnell Gavins and her great uncle, Rufus Parker.
Zuri resided in Rocky Mount, NC where she attended J.W. Parker Middle School where she always carried a smile on her face that could light up any room she entered. She played soccer, track, and she was also on the wrestling team. She danced for the Jazzy Jaguars and she attended an after-school program called Peacemakers where she received an appreciation certificate and had her picture in the Peace Good newspaper. Zuri also shared a great love for doing hair, and practicing with lashes and nails. She was a true diva.
Zuri leaves to cherish her memory and love, her mother, Ashia James of Rocky Mount, NC; brothers, Giovanni Martin of Raleigh, NC, Kemarian Boyd and Malachi Martin both of Rocky Mount, NC; grandmother, Phyllis James of Norfolk, VA; grandfather, Tony Randall (Nadya Roslyn) of Baltimore, MD; uncles, Anthoney James of Norfolk, VA and Latwon James and his children Zion Rowland, Nyjier James, Diamond Rowland, Twon James Jr. and three special cousins she loved to play with Quban, Genesis and King of Wilmington, NC; a godmother who always spoiled her, Amanda Sanders of Raleigh, NC and a host of numerous family and friends near and far.
