Annette Healy Obituary

Annette O'Connor Healy

July 15, 1935 - February 9, 2025

Annette passed peacefully on February 9th in Napa, California, surrounded by all of her children and many of her grandchildren. Annette was a third generation San Franciscan. She was proud to have grown up in the West Portal area of San Francisco, attending St. Cecilia's Elementary School, St. Rose Academy and SF State. She loved sharing stories about her childhood which included her loving parents, riding the streetcar downtown, Sunday movies at the theater, and many adventures with her sisters and her dear lifelong friend Ann Harding.

Annette met her adoring husband, Daniel Healy at a St. Patrick's Day party in 1955 and they were married in August of 1957. From courtship on she was always "Pumpkin" to our dad, a fond reminder of the childhood nickname given by her father. During their marriage, the couple lived in San Francisco, Daly City, San Rafael and eventually settled with their family in Napa in 1971. Annette was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Apollinaris Parish for over 50 years. Her nightly routine included saying prayers for those on her extensive prayer list - which included family and friends that dated back to her childhood.

Annette worked at Beaulieu Vineyard in Rutherford for 29 years. She loved her job, especially her coworkers who became cherished friends. She was an Administrative Assistant who supported the Winery and Visitor Center. She especially enjoyed the tasting room, where she met visitors from all over. It was the highlight of her day when she had a celebrity encounter and could share the news with her family at dinner. She retired in 2003 with many great stories.

Annette loved to travel. Some of her most memorable trips included going to Ireland with family, to Hawaii with her dear friend Ethel Parodi, to Europe with her sister Joan, and multiple cruises with her husband and friends.

The only thing she loved more than travel, though, was spending time with her children and grandchildren, whether it was an annual holiday gathering, birthday, graduation or sporting event.

Annette was loved and cherished by all that knew her, including the many dogs she owned over the years. Most recently Sadie was her loving and loyal companion, almost always at her side.

Annette was predeceased by her husband Dan, her three sisters Yvonne, Bernice (Hal) and Joan as well sister-in-law Mary (Ed) Murphy. She is survived by her four children Erin Andre, Tim Healy, Kristen Walton (Jeff) and Carolyn Healy, ten grandchildren: Rob, Ryan (Claire), Matt (Karolina) Andre, Garrett (Kelly), Zach, Megan Gray (Adam), Julia Walton, Emma and Daniel Healy, Brynna Wayland and her great-grandson Gerald, as well as her dearly loved nieces and nephews.

Annette's funeral will be held at St. Apollinaris Church in Napa on April 5th at 11 am with a reception immediately following, where we look forward to many stories. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). Please visit her online tribute at www.passalacquafuneralchapel.com
