Philip Hohmann Obituary

Philip George Hohmann

Nov. 10, 1950 - Aug. 19, 2023

NAPA - Philip was the third of seven children born to George and Addie Hohmann. He was born at Parks Victory Hospital shortly after the family moved to Napa. He was developmentally disabled and went to special education classes taught by Ralph Rose.

As a teenager he moved to Porterville where he lived for most of his life, until the family brought him back to Napa in 2012. Here he lived independently at Rohlff's Manor with the support of North Bay Regional Center and his family.

He died after a short illness and is survived by his siblings: Mark Hohmann and Karen Loper of Napa; Rosalyn Singleton of Alaska; and Joel Hohmann of Minnesota; and his many nieces and nephews whom Phil cherished.

Phillip always shared his love for others by the smile on his face. I have a special memory of taking a road trip with the St. John´s Lutheran "Guitar Trio" (Andrea Lehman, Debbie Hatcher and myself) to Potterville where Phillip lived at Good Shepard. He proudly shared with us his home there. Years later when he returned to Napa he still remembered that time. My thoughts are with the family at this time.

I well remember Philip. His smile, his innocence, his kind ways. It warms me to know that he lived a long life, that he had the love of family. God's speed, little one.
