Claire McCann Obituary

Claire A. McCann Claire A. McCann (nee Colby), age 92, a resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Chicago and Alsip, IL, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility, Naperville. She was born April 9, 1917 in Chicago to the late Einar and Ethel (nee Kirby) Colby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William McCann. She is survived by her two sons, William Jr. (Dolores) and Lawrence (Sheila), five grandchildren, Mark (Riei), the late Timothy, Cathleen (Frank) Kalcic, the late Lisa and Michael McCann; and her seven great-grandchildren, Cristen, Matthew and Kevin McCann; David and Brian Kalcic and Morgan and Kathryn McCann. Claire was the second of eight children: the late Annette (the late Howard); the late Buddy (the late Doris); Ray (Mary Lou); the late Richard (Elaine); the late Joan (the late Daniel); Jack (Felicia) and Patricia. She was the beloved aunt of Gail Hopkins and many other nieces and nephews. Claire was loved by all who knew her for her great sense of fun and her enjoyment of life. Visitation Thursday, February 18, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St, Naperville. Additional Visitation Friday, February 19, 9:30-10:30 A.M. at Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Rd., Naperville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. in the church. Interment: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. For info., please call (630) 355-0213 or www.friedrich-jones.com.
