Shelly McFarland Obituary

Shelly McFarland from McFarland's men's store of Marco Island passed away 4/25/21 at the age of 64. Shelly was always accompanied by her golden retriever, Abby, who was only too happy to greet you at the door of the store. Shelly was partners with her father, Chuck, and served in the Rotary for years. Everyone who met Shelly befriended her for her droll sense of humor and honest approach to life. McFarland's store was her life and an institution on Marco for over 40 years. Shelly is survived by mother, Adelle, best friend brother David and brothers Richard Doug and niece and nephew Ariana and Alex who became the children she never had. Shelly gave back to the community of Marco in hours of service and provided the best men's store Marco ever had. She is cherished in the hearts of best friends Jeane Hilt and Joyce Gallager.

I met Shelly in 1973 and since then she’d become like family. She’s my son John’s godmother and was very close to his mom(Susan Werkman-deceased).We had good times together for years. We didn’t have a lot of contact after she moved to Florida but have always felt close despite the distance between us. Mabey she and Sue are having a beer or two again! Her smile and sense of humor defined Shelly. She had a sweet heart that touched all who knew her. Rest In peace Shelly.
