Susan Faill Sutherland Naples, FL
Susan Faill Sutherland was born October 16, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY. She died peacefully with family at bedside at home in Naples, FL on November 16, 2010.
Sue graduated from St. Ann's School in Charlottesville, VA and Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She married her beloved husband, Donald Sutherland, in 1953 and they moved many times in their early marriage prior to settling in Wilmington, DE. After his retirement, Sue and Don split their time between their homes in Wilmington, DE and Naples, FL and traveled the world.
Besides her husband, Donald; she is survived by her children, John and Roz Sutherland, Sara and Robert O'Connor, and Andrew and Michelle Sutherland. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Sue was first and foremost a homemaker and a mother. She was also active in the community, volunteering with the Wilmington Delaware Junior League and their work with the Winterthur Museum.
Avow Hospice of Naples, FL was instrumental in getting her home and easing her passing with this final illness. Heartfelt thanks go out to caregivers, Daffy, Maxine, and Gloria who helped Don care for her as she struggled with her health in the past few years. She will be missed but all who know and love her are happy that she is now at peace.
Her memorial service will be private in Wilmington, DE.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Sutherlands several years ago. My services were required as an aide for Mrs. What a wondeful couple! My thoughts & prayers are with Mr. Sutherland & his family.
