Joseph Boyer Obituary
NEWARK: A funeral service, to celebrate the life of Joseph W. Boyer, Jr., age 67, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 10:30 at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Joseph was born in Newark on February 10, 1946 to the late Joseph Sr. and Sarah (Abel) Boyer. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on May 21, 2013.
Joseph graduated from Newark High School, where he enjoyed playing the coronet in the marching band. Prior to retirement, he was a crew leader with Arvin-Meritor. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He enjoyed building car models, die cast cars and watching NASCAR. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his three sons, Aaron C. (Mindie) Boyer, Michael (Sarah Davis) Boyer and Jonathon (Annette) Boyer; brothers and sisters, Judy Broceus, Jim (Elaine) Boyer, Maggie (Dana) Stiles, Anita (Rick) Morgan, Tom Boyer and John (Cindy) Boyer; grandchildren, Brianna, Logan, Grayson, Austin, Alysa and Addisson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean Boyer, who passed away on March 4, 2013, and whom he married on January 20, 1973; and one grandson, Nathaniel Addisson Boyer.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joseph to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
