Zachary Scott Duncan

NEWARK: Zachary Scott Duncan, age 20, formerly of Pataskala, passed away suddenly on May 4, 2013 in Newark, Ohio.

He was born on April 1, 1993 to Randall Duncan and Rebecca Hock and lovingly taken care of by James and Grace Duncan, grandparents. He attended Southwest Licking School District, playing baseball and football.

He is preceded in death by his grandpa in 2004.

Surviving are his father, mother, grandmother; also surviving are younger brother, Shawn, sister Ava; aunt, Laurie; and cousin, Kyrstal, mother of Jordan and Mikaylah.

Zachary was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Reds fan.

Friends may call at Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, Pataskala on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 6 to 8pm. Funeral service on Friday at the funeral home at 1:00pm with Pastor Wade Brill officiating. Burial to follow at Pataskala Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to The Park National Bank, C/O Grace Duncan, 350 E. Broad St., Pataskala, Ohio 43062. An online memorial will be located at www.kaubersammons.com.

Zach, God took you home, Oh so soon, he had a plan to us unknown. We hurt, we cry, and even get mad, for this is all way too sad. We will each heal in our own ways, remembering your smile, laughter and playing days. I know your watching us from Heaven, seeing all the hearts you've touch is a blessing. Grace I am thinking of you and your family...you DID do an amazing job NEVER dount that...Zach was sooo funny and sooo loving and was a wonderful friend to Jordan for many years. Zach was more than just one of my friends. He had a heart of gold. My mothers heart broke when I told her what happened. He worked with the kids in her class and their faces lit up when he walked into the room. I'm so sorry for your loss

Allie & Zach were friends through school. I remember taking him to the Night of Thunder at National Trails one weekend, he was so excited and so appreciative. Zach was always polite and mannerly when I saw him. I'm so sorry for your loss. May God comfort all of you during this difficult time

Will continue to pray for the Duncan family. Zach was such an amazing person with such a big heart. I rode the bus with him Shawn and Krystal for a while and we always had the best times. I looked at Zach as an older brother and he always had my back. Even though I lost touch with this family, Zach will always hold a special place in my heart. He had the kindest heart and I am so very sad that this has occurred. Will continue to pray and may all your hearts be healed very soon! God Bless!

Grace, I am so sorry for you loss. Please know that Zach was a well mannered young man, Everytime that I saw Zach he did not hesitate to help me with loading my groceries or helping my mom. His laughter, smile and big heart will truly be missed.

Zach will by missed by many. I remember Zach as that spunky little kid running aound the baseball field. Josh and Zach spent a lot of time together as kids and we always loved having him around. My heart hurts for you and your loss. Look to the Lord for guidance thru this sad time.

Hard to believe someone I knew quite well growing up is gone so suddenly. Zach and I used to be so close when I attended Watkins. I have many great memories to hold on to and will keep praying for everyone in his family. I can't even believe something like this could even happen to such a young guy. It breaks my heart knowing Zach is gone. Although we lost contact over the past few years, some of my best memories from my early childhood were with him. We used to do the dumbest things, as long as they made us laugh and have a good time. I remember one time we emptied out an entire bottle of Swiffer solution and dumped it on the floor so we could drift through his kitchen on kids toys. We shot bottle rockets at each other and put flour on virtually everything in his house. He was a great guy to be around, and I have a special place in my memory of our friendship. I'll miss him a great deal. My thoughts and love go out to "grandma", Shawn, Randy, Krystal, Ava and the entire family.
