Born in Brooklyn, New York on June 18, 1946, Fred moved to Bristol, Connecticut as a young child, where he would go on to make a lasting mark on his community. He attended Bristol Eastern High School, where he was a varsity diver on the swim team, and he was also the drummer for a local rock bandearly signs of the energy and rhythm that would carry him through a full and adventurous life. Fred served in the U.S. Navy Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1965. His professional life was diverse and dynamic. In his younger years, he opened several paint stores, and later spent over two decades as a respected foreman at General Motors, New Departure. In the 1990s, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and opened Sebastian's Restaurant and Banquet Facility on Route 6 in Bristol. There, he became a fixture in the community, hosting weddings, parties, and eventsmost notably running the kitchen for the Eastern Regional Little League. Fred also donated his time to the Bristol Kiwanis Club and assisted in various charities. After closing the restaurant in 1999, Fred moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, intending to retire, but instead continued working as a Banquet Manager at several golf resorts. In 2010, he returned to Bristol, where he officially retiredbut not from life. He remained active, volunteering his culinary talents for various community events and spending time doing what he loved most: being with family and enjoying live blues music. Fred is predeceased by his beloved daughter, Jan Marie. He is survived by his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Ellen Sebastian; his brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Patricia Sebastian; his cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Sydney Sebastian; his nephew and niece, Andrew Sebastian and Gina Morse; as well as many grand-nieces and grand-nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.
