Daniel "Boone" Ray, born Nov. 3, 1946 in Dandridge, departed this life Aug. 16.
Throughout his life Daniel was known by many names; dad, father, papaw, pappy, uncle, and brother but the most cherished was Boone.
He was a member of Belmont A.M.E. Zion Church.
He was proceeded in death by his parents: Alger and Melmer Ray; brothers: Jacinto Ray, and Harold Ray; sister: Maglean Ray; and granddaughter: Jasmine Ray.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his children: Dion Ray, Lucy "Ken" Benjaman, Danny Ray, Pinky "Lisa" Ray, Israel "Beverly" Ray, and Tina "Bud" Howell; brothers and sisters: Charles "Priscilla" Ray, Alger "Dennis" Stockley, Edward "Gloria" Ray, Percy Ray, Josephine "Walter" Bryson, and Donna "Billy" Branner; and a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Funeral services will be at noon Aug. 23 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge with the Rev. Donna Branner officiating and the Rev. Mike Hannon giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. until noon.
The interment will infollow at Belmont A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery in Dandridge.
Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge is honored to serve the Ray family.
