TUSCOLA – Quentin M. Weber, 88, of Tuscola passed away at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 E. Van Allen St., Tuscola, with Father Barry Harmon as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a 4 p.m. rosary service, on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at the Hilligoss-Shrader Funeral Home, 705 S. Main St., Tuscola. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, with military graveside rites.
Mr. Weber was born on March 30, 1919, in Tuscola, the son of Elmer and Theresa Kleiss Weber. He married Catherine Scheu on Nov. 6, 1945, in Tuscola. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2005.
Survivors include on son, Bill Weber of Plano, Texas; three daughters, Shirley Taylor of Tuscola, Joan Colwell of Champaign and Judy Weber-Jones of Champaign; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Verlin "Frank" Weber of Urbana; and two sisters, Ann Mattix of Tuscola and Marge Ferguson of California.
He was preceded in death by one son, four brothers and one sister.
Memorials are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, Provena Covenant Hospice Care Program or Restless Leg Syndrome Support Group.
Quentin was a very skillful, honest, hardworking and well-respected carpenter. He had built more than 54 homes during his career. He was a member and former trustee of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed gardening.
