Robert E. Roberts

PHILO - Robert E. "Bob" Roberts of Philo passed away Aug. 22, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by his family after battling pancreatic cancer.

Bob was born on Feb. 5, 1934, in Sidney, the sixth child of Walter and Myrtle Roberts. On Oct. 15, 1955, he married Anna Wheeler, and together they celebrated 69 years of marriage. She survives.

He is also survived by his children, Debra (Tim) Marquis of Lenoir, N.C., and Chris (Amy) Roberts of Philo; six grandchildren, Allison (Wesley), Cody, Paige, Caden, Caleb and Caley; and five great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Brinley, Cora, Landon and Sienna.

Bob dedicated his life to hard work and service. For 35 years, he lovingly cared for Locust Grove Cemetery, and over the years, he operated several businesses, including the Philo FS gas station, Robert's bus service, and a pressure-washing company.

Above all, Bob will be remembered for never knowing a stranger, his infectious laugh, love of a good meal, sharp card-playing skills, and his deep devotion to God and his family. He truly touched everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gernon, Ted and Kenny; and his sisters, Lois, Eileen and Neva.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service.
