Joseph Serafini Obituary

Joseph R. Serafini, born September 5th, 1959, died October 13th. He was a man unique to himself with strong beliefs of what would make the world better. His love for his family was constant and no matter what was occurring his last words were "I love you". He had many professions in life but his joy was when he was teaching. His knowledge of history was phenomenal with the ability to bring history alive. He was an avid Civil War reenactor for many years. Throughout his life he was a voracious reader who would reread a book again and again just for the love of the written word. His last act was to walk the neighborhood after the storm to check on his neighbor's. He leaves behind a son, Robert James, sister, Joanne Serafini, sister sometime mother, Myrna Moore, brother William Serafini, his beloved nephew Tyler Moore and many more nephews, nieces, and cousins. Joe I love you and will miss you forever, Myrna.

Hard to believe that it's been six years already. I miss Joe, the conversations that we used to have and all the laughs. He is missed and I think of him often.

Joe and I had a unique love for "The West Wing" and we could speak for hours on that subject alone! I will miss our varied conversations and jokes. He called me just two days before he passed to let me know that he had just gotten his power back on and offered me a place to stay until mine came back on after Hurricane Matthew left me without power for five days.

Joseph was a great help to me when I visited Daytona Magic. He was my go-to magician for advice or handling of a magic trick. I respected his magic knowledge and consider Joe a great friend and a talented magician. You will be missed tremendously.
