David Moore Obituary

David J. Moore

David J. Moore, age 38, departed this life on Saturday morning, May 25, 2013 and went on to his heavenly reward. David was born in Springfield, Missouri on December 14, 1974.

He earned his pilot's license on the day of his 16th birthday, thus beginning his love affair with flying airplanes. He was an incredibly intuitive pilot and was type-rated in everything from crop dusters to Citation and Lear jets. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1993 and went on to Central Missouri State University where he earned a degree in aviation. He later attended Middle Tennessee State University and earned a Master's Degree in Aviation Education/Technology.

David married the love of his life, McKenna Marie Saunders, June 11, 2011 in Christ Church Cathedral in Nashville. With McKenna, he found great happiness - a true friend and soul mate with whom he could share his life. He was the father of three sons: Steven James Moore, Wesley Warren Moore and Tristan Douglas Moore, three boys who made him incredibly proud and happy.

David is survived by his wife, McKenna; his three sons; his parents, Jim and Cathy Moore of Springfield, Missouri; his sisters, Deborah Moore-Lai, Jacqueline Moore King, Michele Moore Krantz; and one brother, Robert J. Moore; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. David is also survived by his beautiful second family, the Saunders family - Larry and Alexis Saunders, Joshua and Rachael Saunders, and David and Michelle Saunders, as well as their extended family members.

David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Warren and Eleanor Myers; and his paternal grandparents, Harry and Marie Moore, who were already gathered in heaven to meet him when he arrived.

Funeral services are planned for Friday, May 31, 2013 in Christ Church Cathedral, 900 Broadway, Nashville. Visitation will begin at noon with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Father Timothy Kimbrough and Father Thomas P. Kiefer.

In lieu of flowers, donations in David's honor may be made to the Nashville Zoo or the AOPA Air Safety Foundation. WOODBINE FUNERAL HOME Directors 615-832-1948. Still Family Owned.
