FRANK COSSU Obituary

Obituary

Frank Cossu, 81, Cape Coral, passed away on October 17, 2009. He was born on December 15, 1927 in Mabscott, WV, to Antonio and Rose Cossu. He and his loving wife, Doris, lived in Ohio until they relocated to Florida where they lived for 36 years.

Frank was admired by all who knew him. Despite facing physical handicaps, he was an active, vibrant man who accomplished anything he set his mind to. He loved to challenge his mind. He was an accomplished clinician and knowledgeable in the many facets of the medical field. For the last 35 years, he devoted this knowledge and expertise to the field of cytology.

His hobbies included fishing, boating and billiards, but his favorite was a good debate on politics. Of all of his many successes, he was most proud of his family. To his family, he was an inspiration, a man of honor, principle and integrity.

He was predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Doris, and two brothers, Pete and John. Survivors include his four children, Scott Cossu (Debi), Dr. John Cossu (Dr. Cynthia Lukasiewicz), Cynthia Cossu (David Garber) and Barbara Cossu, Esq. (Charles Edwards), ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, and two siblings, Phyllis Mayer of Tampa and Carl Cossu of California.

A celebration of his life will be held at Cypress Lake Country Club, 6767 Winkler Road, Fort Myers, Florida on October 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. Frank was an animal lover, and as such, in lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be made to Gulf Coast Humane Society, 2010 Arcadia St, Fort Myers, FL 33916-4849.
