Virginia Carolyn Caldwell Carnefix

Virginia C. Caldwell Carnefix, 77, of Appomattox, died on November 25, 2021. She was the loving wife of Joel Dickerson Carnefix.

Born in Lynchburg, on January 2, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Kathleen Whittington and David E. Caldwell Jr. Virginia was a member of Northminster Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was a secretary for Moses Motor Company, a piano teacher and homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Fedison and husband, John, of Salem, Susan Cheatham of Spout Spring, and Jennifer Tucker and husband, Randy, of Appomattox; two nieces, Sandra Thorne and husband, Bill, and Debbie Burch and husband, Kip; one nephew, David R. Caldwell Jr.; and six grandchildren, Dylan Cheatham and wife, Colby, Tyler Fedison and wife, Emma, Haley Fedison, Emily Cheatham, Olivia Tucker and Madelyn Tucker.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Stuart Cheatham; and brother and sister-in-law, David R. Caldwell and Jenny.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, November 29, 2021, at Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at her residence.
