I miss Dr. Egner so much. He had become a dear friend of mine after he had saved my life as my doctor. I will always value my friendship with him and his dear wife, Teash! May you both rest in peace with your Savior, Jesus Christ! John H. Schultz Dacula, Georgia

I met Dr. Egner on July 31, 1973. I was referred to him by my family physician. Little did I know that he would be saving my life the following month after surgically removing my left testicle. I had cancer. Because of the nature of the tissue, Dr. Egner recommended follow-up surgery that he would perform with his partner and friend, Dr. Gerald Buetow in September, 1973. After a 5.5 hour surgery and subsequent biopsy of my lymph nodes, Dr. Egner was pleased to announce that the cancer had not spread and that I would not need any radiation nor chemotherapy (while informing me of this, he took out a cigar in the hospital and smoked it in victory). While that was the greatest news I could hear at my 23 years of age, my most treasured memory has been the friendship I developed with Dr. Egner and his beautiful wife, Teash. Our friendship included a 5 year dinner celebration of my "cure" in 1978! While I moved away from NY and settled in metro Atlanta, Dr. Egner, Teash and I kept in touch through cards, letters,

I am so saddened to hear of John´s passing. John´s mother Theresa, worked for my mother in the early 1940´s and cared for me as an infant. As a very young child I could not pronounce Theresa - it came out "Theda"; soon everyone called her Theda, and she used it the rest of her life. Theda and sons John and Tony were frequent visitors for the next two decades. They were family, and I loved them dearly. Where has the time gone...?
My condolences to John´s family.
