Lillian Heckinger Obituary

Heckinger - Lillian Patrk, on April 26, 2025 in Clayton, NC. Born in Astoria Queens on January 22, 1933, Lillian graduated from Port Washington High School in 1950. She also lived in North Babylon and Sayville. As a writer she penned several children's books that reflected her belief in kindness, integrity and the importance of a happy ending. Family was extremely important to Lillian and at gatherings, she loved to read her books to everyone. She would do her writing at local diners where she would enjoy a muffin and a cup of coffee that had to be half hot milk and half coffee. Her legacy of warmth, joy and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Lillian or Lillee is survived by daughters, Patty Bellon (Greg) Port Washington, Gail Anthony (Howard) Selma, NC and Cathi Hewston of Henderson, TN. She was Yaya to 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and best friend to Ann Rubinich Corbin and Barbara Belanich. She was predeceased by her parents, Mile and Margaret Patrk; stepfather, Daniel Pergola; and brother, E. Peter Patrk. A family service was held in Clayton, NC and a memorial is being planned in NY.
