Maureen McGovern Obituary
Philip and Catherine McGovern and youngest of four children, Maureen grew up in Brooklyn and Richmond Hill. She was an extraordinary person and had a close-knit circle of friends who loved her inimitable personality and her boundless sense of humor. Her world revolved around her dear nieces, nephew, and their children, and she injected fun and flair into all of their lives.
Maureen will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her family: her nieces, nephew and their spouses, Barbara and Thomas Pescuma, Coleen and Victor Antico,
Catherine McGovern, Siobhan and Thomas Hapgood, Deirdre and Brian Moore, and Philip and
JoAnne McGovern; sister-in-law Bridget McGovern; grandnephews and grandnieces; and many cousins in the United States and Ireland. She was predeceased by her three siblings, John, Barbara, and Philip. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the McGovern family on Wednesday, January 26th from 4-7 PM at the Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, 1201 Franklin Avenue, Garden City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Maureen's life will be Thursday, January 27th at 11:15 AM at St. Anne's Church, 35 Dartmouth Street, Garden City, NY. Maureen will be interred in the family plot in St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY.
