Michael Hastings Obituary

Hastings - Michael, of Levittown and Bayville, on January 20, 2024. Loving father, devoted community member, and longtime Newsday employee. Mike is survived by his daughter Corinne Hastings;

step-daughter Rachel Dempsey; and their mother Paula Hastings; sister Phyllis

Adzima (Philip); brother

Stephen Hastings (Kimberly); and brother-in-law Stephen Suspenski. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his dear sister Catherine Suspenski and his parents Dorothy Carswell and Thomas C. Hastings. Visitation Friday 4-7 PM at Hempstead FH, 89 Peninsula Blvd., Hempstead, NY 11550. Funeral Saturday 11 AM at Village Church of Bayville. Cremation private. Donations may be made to Harspwell Aging at Home at

I was so sorry to hear of Mike's passing!
He was a dear friend in days long ago and was best man at my first wedding in November of 1972!
We were so young back then and we shared many good moments. Quite often you would catch us being shade-tree mechanics on his parents driveway!
(The stories to tell!)
I moved to the Dallas, Tx area in 1981 and we lost contact.
To Mike's family, I express my deepest condolences!
He was a hell of a good friend and is missed!
Rest In Peace, my friend!
