Paul DUPUIS

1932 - 2021

DUPUIS - Paul Francis, formerly of North Babylon, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021 at the age of 88. Paul grew up in Watertown, Massachusetts and received a BA from the College of the Holy Cross, and MA's from both Canisius College and Niagara University. He began his career as a social studies teacher in Depew, NY where he met and married Mary Nestico in 1958. They moved to Long Island where Paul taught at Belmont Lake Junior High School in North Babylon. He then served as Assistant Superintendent for Personnel at BOCES III. He was also the New York State Education Department Regional Certification Officer for Long Island. In this capacity, he certified a multitude of Long Island teachers. Paul was a long time member of the North Babylon Lions Club, a lector at St. Joseph's Parish in Babylon, and an active member of the Holy Cross Alumni Association. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, reading, studying history, and traveling. He was a people person who enjoyed socializing and telling jokes. He was kind, compassionate, generous, and wherever life's journey took him, he was always smiling. He will be greatly missed. Paul was predeceased by Mary, his loving wife of 41 years, his brother Philip Dupuis, and his sister Patricia Casey. He is survived by his wife Patrice, devoted children Janine Augustine (Edward), Denise Pellicane, Christine Jadatz (Andrew) and Philip Dupuis (Marjorie), his beloved grandchildren, Marissa, Joseph, Michael, Kyle, and Timothy, and his cherished sister Charlotte Murray. In addition, he is survived by his dear sisters in law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Service and burial will be in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made in Paul's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Public Library for Union County Pennsylvania, or the charity of your choice.
