Sylvia Greve Obituary

Greve - Sylvia, 90, of Bay Shore, NY, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025. Sylvia was born on January 29, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY. She dedicated her life to raising her family and serving her church and community. Sylvia was known for her deep faith, gentle wisdom, and selfless devotion to others. She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, J. William Greve; her children, John Greve (Donna), Margaret Greve (John Milward), Janet Quinn (Daniel), and Katherine Camp (Edward); her grandchildren, Michael, Andrea, Meghan, Matthew, Daniel, Kelly, Kyle, Bridget, Nicole, Timothy, Logan, and Jordyn; and her great-grandchildren, Vincent, James, Ella, Jack, Luke, Peyton, Ning, and Patrick. She is also survived by her loving sister, Marion Ritter; and her nieces and their spouses. Visitation will be held at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons West Islip Funeral Home on Sunday, July 6, from 3PM to 6PM. A funeral service will follow on Monday, July 7, at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Islip, with interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Islip in Sylvia's honor.
