Michael McCormick Obituary
Michael Eugene McCormick, Jr., 47, of Southport, was met in Heaven by his Daddy, grandparents, and a host of relatives and friends Wednesday afternoon.
Michael was a life-long resident of Southport, and was loved by his family very much. He was a loving, giving person who was always more concerned about others than himself. He loved holidays, his computer, Walker, Texas Ranger, and his best buddy, Smokey. Michael was a "Gift from God", and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike McCormick, Sr.; his grandparents, Clarence and Nellie McCormick and A. J. and Lessie Payne; and numerous other relatives.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara McCormick of Southport; his sisters, Angela Lucas (Bobby), Sandra Ivey, Michelle (Mikki) Sanders, and Brandie Ware; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Michael's life will begin at 3:30 PM Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the Bridge Church at Sunny Hills with Pastor Tony Hagan and Mr. John Ware officiating. Interment will follow in Southport Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until service time.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are Rex Ivey, Jesse Ivey, Terrance Sanders, Anthony Chase Ivey, Lane Ware, and Bobby Lucas; honorary pallbearers will be Justin Lee Cannon, Lonnie Infinger and Broward Spell.
