COAL TOWNSHIP - John P. Krebs, 86, of 838 W. Mulberry St., passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Shamokin, March 17, 1939, a son of the late Ralph and Rita J. (Patry) Krebs.
He graduated Coal Township High School in 1957.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He worked as an aircraft instrument repair man, in Middletown, and was a co-owner of PAR-3 bar, in Coal Township.
He was a life member of both the Independence Fire Co. and East Cameron Ninerods.
Brother Pat, you did it your way.
John is survived by two brothers, Robert Hartman and his wife, Mary Ann, of Coal Township, and Harvey Krebs and his wife, Mary Alice, of Catawissa; a sister, Julia Ann Eltringham, of Allentown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, John Patrick "Pat" Krebs II; three brothers, Ned R. Hartman and his wife, Sharon, Ralph Krebs and Richard Gross; and a brother-in-law, Sydney Eltringham.
KREBS - John P. Krebs, 86, of Coal Township. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, with the Rev. Joan Brown officiating at Farrow-Campbell Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 240 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, supervisor. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be held following the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program - F, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
