Donald Taylor Obituary

A memorial gathering for Donald Anthony Taylor, 48, will be from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel of Anchorage, 440 E. Klatt Road. 
Donald died Sept. 9, 2012, at Alaska Native Medical Center. He was born on June 1, 1964, in Fairbanks, and graduated with a GED from Fairbanks High School.
He lived in Fairbanks, Barrow, Prudhoe Bay, Valdez and Anchorage. He has worked for Jiffy Lube, Alaska Auto Glass, Labor Ready, Best Glass, and Replacement Glass, all in Anchorage; Stosh's IM, M&R Automotive, Petroleum Contractors, Taylor Mining & Exploration, Fairbanks Gold Mining, and Houston Contracting in Fairbanks. He enjoyed automotive repair, mining and fishing.
According to his family, "Donald was born and raised in Fairbanks and relocated to Anchorage. He was peaceful, kind, compassionate and caring. He was good to everyone. He brought much joy, happiness and laughter to everyone, everywhere he went. He was always helping others and will be sorely missed by all who loved him known him.
"He loved traveling and had been to many states, Canada and Mexico. He was a jack of all trades. He was generous to a fault and beloved by many. He graduated from Lively Technical Center as a auto body technician and professional painter and was sought by Martin-Senour and various professions of the trade."
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Fredrick Taylor Sr.; mother, Maria Elizabeth Taylor; two brothers, Adam and Andrew Taylor, and sister, Gertrude Taylor.
He is survived by three sisters, Debbie Suvlu, of Barrow, LuBeth Henriksen, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Sandy Taylor, of Roseburg, Ore.; two brothers, Rex Rock Sr., of Point Hope, and Joseph Fredrick Taylor Jr., of Nenana; four nephews, Joey Taylor, of Key West, Fla., Rex Rock Jr., of Anchorage, Ryan Rock, of Waterbury, Conn., and Reece Rock, of Point Hope; seven nieces, Fannie Ellen Suvlu, Bernadette Adams and Jamie Suvlu, all of Barrow, Misty Nagan, of West De Pere, Wis., Melissa Snider, of Eau Claire, Wis., Melodi Snider, of Wausa, Wis., and Raquel Rock Colvin, of Anchorage; uncle, Rex Okakok Sr., of Barrow; three aunts, Phoebe McDonald, of Anchorage, Sarah Okakok, of Barrow, and Edna Soplu, of Fairbanks; and many other aunts and uncles and cousins in Alaska and the Lower 48.
