I remember Phil and Rhoda very well from my youth. We left Fairbanks in 1966 to move to Bremerton, WA. Dad, (Big Dan) had Danny's Service at 1st & Noble for many years prior to our move. I fondly remember Phil and Rhoda at the Lake(Harding).

Many years of booking travel for Phil and Rhoda- as well as many years of flowers being brought to our office for his 'travel gals'. He was a thoughtful man and full of all sorts of history about Fairbanks- and Alaska in general. He was always smiling and laughing and kidding around with true kindness. I am sure his family is grieving after just losing Rhoda and now Phil. Rest in peace. Becky Litzinger

Phil was one of the greatest men I ever knew. Since my earliest memories as a child, I looked forward to coming to Harding Lake for the 4th of July gathering. Playing HORSE with him on his basketball court, playing music all night and dancing on that same court and great games and breakfasts in the morning at the cabin are forever in my fondest memories. One night when I was about 25 he stayed up all night with me on his dock and we figured out the meaning of life together. Those thoughts have lived with and carried me well. Loved and cherished our time together Phil. Now you and Rhoda “hit the dance floor”!

Phil lived near my husband, Jerry Freel, in the early 1960's. Their houses were in Lameta. The past few years Phil was frequently in Freds or Safeway, and always walked up and visited with Jerry and me. He remembered Jerry and had kind words for him. We are currently out of state but read about his passing in the Daily Newsminer. We always enjoyed seeing Phil in the store, and he was sure to say hello, including me in the conversation. We will miss him.

Phil, the girls and I will miss you so much at the bank. I was sure a lucky gal to receive your beautiful flowers on a regular basis. You always made me feel so appreciated. You were definitely one of the reasons why I loved my job so much, helping people like you. I'll miss you dearly.
