Roberta Atkinson Welch Dahl passed away peacefully in her sleep the night of Feb. 25 or the morning of the 26th, 2009.
Roberta was born in Alhambra, Calif., on March 14, 1941. She lived in California, Alaska, Canada, Oregon and returned "home" to Fairbanks a couple of years ago.
Berta first came to Fairbanks in 1961. She attended and put her husband through the University of Alaska Fairbanks, taught at Lathrop High School and had two sons, Bobby and John. She is predeceased by her parents, Dr. Robert and Mrs. Atkinson of California.
She is survived by her two sons, Bob Welch and John Dahl; two brothers, John and Mike Atkinson; a sister, Lucy Persons; and many nieces and nephews.
