Ruth Crow Obituary

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Ruth Ann Crow was called home to be with our Lord on Oct. 4, 2018. Ruth was born on July 13, 1946, to Esau and Lucy Crow of Circle.
Ruth was an avid believer in living a subsistence lifestyle. She and her husband spent summers at their fish camp teaching their grandchildren. She taught her grandchildren how to make bread, jar fish, pick berries and make jam. Ruth loved using her old antique washing machine. She had numerous collections of thimbles, spoons, plates, wind chimes and friends. She was an expert beader, moose skin and fur crafter. She made quilts and crocheted afghans for many of her friends and family members. She was tough as nails. She loved playing bingo.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Belva Jean, Donna and Kimberly; her sons, Darrell, Lawerence (JR) and his wife Eugina, and Lee (Crystal); her granchildren, Miranda Carroll and family, Ted John and family, Carmen John, AnnMarie, Johanna, Justin, Blaine, Lawerence, Elora, Justice, and Miley; great grandson Tristen; sister-in laws, Edna Nathaniel, Mildred White and the Rev. Mary Nathaniel; brothers-in-law, Steve, Paul and Sam Nathaniel and Steve Ginnis, numerous nieces and nephews throughout the Yukon Flats area, Yukon Territory, Anchorage, Soldotna, Valdez, Fairbanks, California, Nevada, New Hampshire, West Virginia and numerous cousins.
Ruth was preceded in death by her sons, James and Richard; granddaughter, Ashlyn; her parents; brothers, Robert and Charlie Crow; and sisters, Sarah, Martha, Mary, Inez and Marian.
Please join us for a visitation at noon on Oct. 11, 2018, at the St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Fairbanks with a service to follow. After the service, soup and sandwiches will be served.
Ruth will be taken to Circle to her final resting place. Visitation will start at noon on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 with a service and potlatch to follow.

Ruth was a very strong woman who I totally respected. The hurt and pain is overwhelming and nothing can ever be said that will make this hurt go away. There are many prayers being offered to the family, we just have to believe that we will all be together in paradise when the lord calls us home to his kingdom in heaven. May God take care of the family especially Larry.

It was a pleasure to serve with Ruth on the Tanana Chiefs Conference Health Board. She showed genuine concern for the health of her people, and tried to help better the delivery of Health Services to everyone. It is very sad that Ruth was taken from us so soon
