Bobby Louis Joyner, 78, native of Wayne County and resident of Four Oaks, passed away at UNC Hospitals on May 12, 2017.
Bobby was the owner of Joyner Refrigeration and Electric, Inc for over 40 years. Prior to starting his own business, he spent 22 years as Maintenance Engineer for Carolina Packers, Inc. He had a love of antique tractors and enjoyed restoring and showing them. He was a master of many trades, a genuine mechanical genius who enjoyed spending time in his shop. He was a generous person who enjoyed many friendships and treasured them all.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro followed by a graveside service at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Frank Purvis officiating.
He is survived by his wife Carol Best Joyner, daughter Beth Joyner Waldron, son-in-law Mike and beloved grandson Evan of Chapel Hill; brothers Gordon Joyner and Danny Joyner of Four Oaks, Ricky Joyner of Mt Olive, Wayne Joyner of Hendersonville; sisters Iris Weaver of Mt Olive and Margaret Rose Cook of Goldsboro. He was preceded in death by parents W.M. and Nina Joyner and brother, Ray Joyner.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made in Bobby's memory to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.

We the Grantham Class of 1956 continue to remember fondly our outstanding Classmate Bobby Joyner. As we hold our Class Reunion this year 2019 on May 18, we will share memories of him and how much he meant to us during those twelve years of school at Grantham High School, Wayne County, NC. We remember his kindness, his goodness, his pleasing personality, his contributions to our Class and School and his quick wit. We cherish the special memories of our time with Bobby. I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your husband and loved one.
I used to work with you,Nancy Lewis, Sarah, and Mark Goforth at the Wayne Co. Agriculture Extension Center in Goldsboro back in 1960's. It's been a long time since I have heard or seen you. I came back to Benson,NC to settle down--where I was born, after living in many other states. Take care , and God bless you and your family.

Mrs. Carol and family, I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Bobby. I know he has been sick for some time but now he is Well and with a New Healthy body . For as long as I can remember, Mr. Bobby and you have been a part of out family. I always knew who to call if anything went wrong at the IGA. Then shortly, I could smell a cigar and hear a yell coming in towards the motor room. He will be greatly missed. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers for comfort ..

We were so sorry to hear of Mr. Bobby's passing. He was a wonderful man, and a good friend. He has helped me with my refrigeration problems for almost 20 years, and was always here when we had a problem.
