Edwin A. Rosenberg, 62, former Senior Institute Economist at The National Regulatory Research Institute, retired Economics Professor, and current Adjunct Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University, passed away suddenly on June 30, 2008 at Lake Tahoe in Meeks Bay, California.
Dr. Rosenberg taught graduate courses in public economics in OSU's John Glenn School of Public Affairs, and was a lecturer at Michigan State's National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissions. He was a member of the American Economics Association, presented testimony before numerous regulatory bodies, and was widely published.
Early in his career Ed taught economics and statistics at North Carolina State University, where he received his doctorate degree, and the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Prior to that, he was an economist at the North Carolina Utilities Commission.

He also leaves his best friend and companion, Marlene Beierle of Columbus, OH.
He will be missed by his many friends, students whom he lovingly mentored, and colleagues across the country. His friends treasured him as a man of great wisdom that was masked by modesty.
Ed was buried in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
His family is asking that donations be sent to the Edwin Rosenberg Memorial Scholarship Fund, John Glenn School of Public Affairs, The Ohio State University, 1810 College Rd., Columbus, OH 43210, attn: Jodi Bopp, Director of Philanthropy. Gifts will go toward benefiting the students via scholarships, books and celebrated speakers.
