Florence Hoyle Obituary

Florence Carswell Hoyle, of Johnson Bridge Road, died unexpectedly, Friday at Valdese General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Sudie Brittain Carswell. She was a former church and secretaryand taught 4 and 5 year old Sunday school for 50 years. She was the retired owner of Hoyle Hosiery Mill and a member of East Burke Senior Citizens of Hildebran.
Funeral 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at First Baptist Church of Hildebran by Reverend Ronald Arndt. Burial, church cemetery.
Surviving: sons, James Franklin Hoyle of Raleigh, Michael Eugene Hoyle of Columbia, S.C., David Edwin Hoyle of Hickory, Carroll Devon Hoyle of Rutherford College; sisters, Mrs. Howard (Vera) Duckworth and Mrs. Bill (Mary Lou) Abee, both of Hickory; grandsons, Paul Hoyle and Mark Hoyle, both of Atlanta, Ga., Jonathan Hoyle of Columbia, S.C. and Jason Hoyle of Rutherford College; granddaughters, Heather Hoyle Phillips and Sarah Hoyle, both of Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Steve (Jonah) Miller of Pennsylvania; four great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.D. Hoyle and second husband, Maurice Freeman; two grandsons, Jim Hoyle and Eric Hoyle; one brother, Howard Carswell and one sister,Ola Mae Carswell.
Visitation from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Hickory Funeral Home.
Arrangements by Hickory Funeral Home.
